Guest lecturer from the University of Liberec
In the week 17-20 November 2021 English Philology students at the Karkonosze University of Applied Sciences have the chance to meet the lecturer from the University of Liberec: Dr. Iva Koutska, who came in the framework of the Erasmus+ programme. In her lectures on 17 and 18 November she dealt with the issue of "Age related variables in the teaching of English." On 19 and 20 November she conducts practical English classes for students at the University of the Third Age.
Iva Koutska is an assistant professor and a coordinator for the primary school program at the English department, Faculty of Science, Humanities and Education, Technical University of Liberec, Czech Republic, Europe. Her main specialization is ELT (English language teaching) methodology.
She got her PhDr. in ELT methodology, awarded in 2020 by the Faculty of Education, Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic with her thesis "Age-related variables in ELT training".
She holds PhD degree in Language Teaching Methodology (with focus on English), awarded in 2016 by the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic. Her dissertation thesis dealt with specific aspects of teaching foreign languages to older adults, students of the universities of the third age. Her research interests include:
- English language teacher training to all age groups (very young learners, young learners, young adult learners, adult learners and older adult learners)
- Age-related Variables in Teaching English as a Second Language
- English language teaching methodology
